Conventional Heaters

Instant water heaters are a great way to have hot, flowing streams of it just when you need them. These types of systems provide instant hot water on demand. However, unless you have a recirculation system hot water still takes time to move from the water heater to the spout. The benefit of a tankless is you won't run out of hot water if someone decides to forget that everyone else in the home also needs a slower conventional gas or electricity-based one run on a tank filled with heated water which is constantly being used as needed for bathing and other purposes such as dishwashing (though not cooking). With these models, the cost of operation can quickly add up since they're always turned "on" even when no one's taking their shower!
